UPDATE: I uploaded some more pictures taken this weekend. Nadja driving her Bobbycar and the first “sessions” on the potty.
It took a long time. First, I did not find time for blogging. Then, when I started to write on Saturday, I got problems with my system. I just could not upload any pictures anymore! After a long sunday evening, which turned into an even longer sunday night, I was lost and desparate. I had tried to upgrade the system to the latest version (which failed due to some small mistake by myself) and finally had to rollback to the previous (back-uped) version. Today I finally found the reason. It is not WordPress, it is also not my beloved NextGenGallyer-Plugin. The reason is 1&1, my hoster. Luckily I found a workaround, if you are interested.
Fact 1: Now I definitely will change my hoster with the end of my running contract. The price-service-ratio is miserable. My new blog is running at Strato already.
Fact 2: Nothing of this is probably at any interest of you. You were looking for updates from Nadja, so here they are:
14. Feb 2009, kurz nach dem Mittagbino – what?
I started another website recently: www.binomsc.com. bino-what? binomsc! Pronounced “bino-m-s-c”.
Why “binomsc”, what does that mean? Well, this is my “unique user name”. A name which I use for more than 10 years when surfing the net. Whenever someone ask for “user name”, “login name”, “nickname” or something like that, it’s time for binomsc. And as a look at Google confirms, it seems that I am the only one using that strange name. So, if you come across “binomsc”, its 99% me: Martin Scholz from Berlin ;-) But, again, what is the story behind that name? Well, it is a long one…

Sometimes old things have their own special appeal: They are interesting again because the fashion style repeats. Or they are made in a way which is called “time-less design”. Or they are simply that old they just became “classics”. Read the rest of this entry »

A small update to the project “Treppe 2.0″ (Stairs 2.0): the welcome-screen was optimized. And, as announce previously, another security-feature for Stairs 2.0 went live: the HANDRAIL. Should be glazed but somehow we were not able to convince ourself to “swing the brushes”. Because, IF we start, we would have to glaze also the weather side of the hazienda. And, of course, the terrace would need some refreshment with oil as well. Probably not a hard job, if you start it. Well, we just did not start – yet :-)
05. Aug 2008, (hoffentlich) FeierabendStairs 2.0
Makeshifts experience often a very long life. This applied also to the first version of the stairs (three or four years of service) to the terrace. So finally I followed my mother’s wish to ‘relaunch’ the stairs . The old platform was not stable enough to handle the traffic. Especially in the evening after BBQ and Wine ;-) System breakdowns were feared which could case user damages. To avoid lawsuits and claims for damages an upgrade from the old ‘wood pile’-framework to the newer ‘Beton’-platform was scheduled. Not to early as at least one pile already revealed significant traces of decay virus attack. Additionally there is an upgrade with the newest security-plugin ‘handrail’ planed. With this feature the usability and comfort for unsecure users will be improve further. Read more about it in one of the next blog postings!

There is a world record to be set! And, honestly, is there any better browser than Firefox? At least for Windows I don’t know one!

One hundred postings. Wow. Who would have expected that? All right, probably my family and friends as they know I LOVE to talk and tell and communicate ;
Nearly one year ago, in June 2007, I wrote my first posting. Thanks to the support of my colleague Nils I was able to update my website last summer. For me a “Must have” since I changed from the international print business team in the newly founded team “New Media International”. Becase my old homepage(s), static, partly written in HTML by myself, partly done with programs like NetObjects in HTML, were not longer “up to date”. Thanks to WordPress I now own a modern blog. And thanks to a lot of easy-to-use and very helpful plug-ins there are even features like tag-cloud, multilingual posts, photo-shows with cool designs, “built-in” videos (instead of YouTube-streaming :-) ) available just like on professional big websites. Let’s see what I will plug in next… More important than all these nice gadgets is still one thing: “Content” – what is published here. I hope, this keeps interesting for you – if not: please give me a hint! :-)
It is unbelievable, but true: With the help of WordPress-PlugIns I am able to achieve something what seems to be impossible for some of my business projects: Multi-language capability! This is the first post published in English and German. I will (have to ;-) ) stick to this two languages as these are the only ones I am brave enough to use and write… well, at least two! ;-)
All right, all static pages are translated, the navigation and the categories, even the sidebar. Although there are some bugs, dunno how to fix that yet. I will not translate the older posting so please bear with me… I will try to write all new posts in German and English so the English content will grow soon.
