Time still flies by. :) Meanwhile the little one is 5 months old already. He lies on his belly. He turns – conciously, even if not co-ordinated yet. And he is laughing. If the sun shines, spring is turning everything green again and he can enjoy the fresh air on the balcony, he is smiling at his best. And we are smiling, too…
During the last weeks there were a lot of stories told around DSDS (Germans version of “Pop Idol” or “American Idol”) and USFO (a competing casting show selecting a candidate for EuroVision Song Contest in Olso). Basically I did not watch any of those shows. Why? Well, because I found my idol. Who could top this? ;-)
BTW, here are the lyrics.
Time flies by. Malte is 3,5 months already. It feels like yesterday when the little one was just born. Of course he is still “little” – however he grew quite a bit already. And he acts and reacts meanwhile. He can make his baby seat swinging all by himself for instance. And he loves it. It is the best thing anyway if he is smiling and laughing. He likes to be undressed. And if we play and tickle him. Have a look yourself :-)
This is how Malte looks when he is sleeping. Cute, isn’t it? Like a little angel.
Well, the path to sleep is long and stony. Malte seems the be afraid to miss something while sleeping. Everytime he gets tired, and his eyes are closing, he fights against the sleep with all his might. It is fascinating to watch it when you try to lull him to sleep in your arms. Well, to be honest, sometimes it is also nerving… “Come on, little one, stop fighting, fall asleep and have a nice dream”, I would like to whisper to him in such moments.
We had to wait a little longer, but finally the umbilical cord was gone. So it was time for the first bath, and we could use the little blue baby bathtub waiting in our bathroom for weeks. While bathing was pure horror for Nadja in the beginning, Malte loves the water right from the start. He relaxes in the warm water – just as described in the books in the advertisments. Still – according to our midwife we simply use some milk instead of expensive baby bath cosmetics.
Friday, 27th November 2009: Welcome home, Malte Lennart! And of course his name is now written on the door (of the children’s room) – even if he sleeps in our bedroom for the time being and spends most of his day time with us in the kitchen or living room. :-)
Okay, it’s not really the first encounter. But at least the first I have on video. Spontaneously recorded, with the iPhone. Because I found it cute. So please do not complain about the quality, the content is what counts :-)
25th November 2009, 0:55 am: our son Malte Lennart enters this world. For the stats: 3300g and 49cm. The birth itself ran smoothly, just as written in the books. Still, it was a miracle! Mam and Malte are just fine, and Dad, too. Nadja was pampered by Grandma and Grandpa and could not wait to see Malte next morning. But enough said, let the pictures talk!
We love the autumn. Especially the “Indian Summer” when the trees are turning yellow and red. Only at our Hazienda this is no fun: the foliage is covering the lawn and has to be removed – or the green is gone next year. Especially as we have many oaks. Those leaves do not rotten so easily… so, move everybody, for a “subbotnik” on the “datcha“!
