It is unbelievable, but true: With the help of WordPress-PlugIns I am able to achieve something what seems to be impossible for some of my business projects: Multi-language capability! This is the first post published in English and German. I will (have to ;-) ) stick to this two languages as these are the only ones I am brave enough to use and write… well, at least two! ;-)
All right, all static pages are translated, the navigation and the categories, even the sidebar. Although there are some bugs, dunno how to fix that yet. I will not translate the older posting so please bear with me… I will try to write all new posts in German and English so the English content will grow soon.
I guess everybody receives cryptic emails once in a while: mostly SPAM (I receive it with cyrillic letters recently!), sometime colleagues write these emails (“What the h**l this guy wants now?!”), and even your friends do it. The last could happen more often now to me. All right, not regarding the content but unreadable for third parties. Because with a little big help from my boss (in fact it was step-by-step) I managed to install PGP-encryption on my MacBook. So if you are using PGP as well feel free to communicate encrypted with me, my public PGP-Key you can find here – or use the button on the top right in the sidebar.
I guess it’s time for some updates about Nadja, the Lates Nadja News. She is growing and developing quickly. We do not realize it that much as we see her daily but if we have a look on photos from February it is quite a significant difference. And not only the look is changing, she is acquiring new abilities every week – right according to the “plans in the books”.
She got her fourth teeth (that’s why she had a little temperature last night). She learns to make more sounds and faces. She even starts trying to eat and drink herself. While holding the bottle is not a problem, the theory of eating baby mash with a spoon is still to be learned :-) Currently she is fighting with her mother “who owns the spoon”. And, if mom thinks she can keep the spoon, well, Nadja uses her fingers. Okay, I guess every baby has to put her fingers in the mash or meal one day, hasn’t it? What the result looks like? Für einige der netten Funktionen meines Blogs (“PlugIn”) hab ich schon Updates geladen gehabt. Doch an die eigentliche Plattform, WordPress, hab ich mich lange nicht heran getraut, von wegen SQL-Datenbank-BackUp und so…
Heute dann aber doch. Und es hat gut, sehr gut funktioniert! Meine Daten sind da, meine Fotos, die individuellen Anpassungen beim Design und sogar bei einigen kleineren Funktionalitäten laufen problemlos – nur das “Umfrage-Tool” will noch nicht mit der aktuellen Plattform :-)
Schade, aber dafür gibt es ein paar neue, geniale Funktionen: das automatische Update von PlugIns zum Beispiel! ;-) Und neue PlugIns, zum Beispiel neue Fotodarstellungen – wie findet Ihr zum Beispiel diese?
Es ist eine Weile seit dem letzten Eintrag her. Der Grund ist einfach: Stress auf Arbeit. Nichts wirklich neues. Raubt einen Zeit, Energie und manchmal buchstäblich den letzten Nerv. Insbesondere, wenn der Stress eigentlich unnötig ist und nur aufgrund “politischer Spielchen” entsteht. Man mit dem Papiertiger kämpfen muss, anstatt sich der wirklichen Arbeit zu widmen. Es ist immer wieder faszinierend erschütternd, wie schnell und scheinbar einfach die Gesetze und Regeln der Logik außer Kraft gesetzt werden, wenn die “Konzernpolitik” zuschlägt. Umso wichtiger ist es, die wirklich wichtigen Seiten im Leben zu kennen. Früher musste ich mich dann bewusst darauf konzentrieren, dass es anderes, wichtigeres im Leben gibt. Letztlich ist die Arbeit nur dazu da, um Geld zu bekommen, um die Rechnungen zu zahlen.
Heutzutage ist es viel einfacher für mich: ein Blick auf mein Handy, und ich sehe die strahlende Nadja! Das ist wie ein Sonnenstrahl an einem kalten Novembertag. Natürlich ist es noch schöner, wenn ich Abends nach Hause komme, und sie mich anstrahlt, bevor sie schlafen geht. Und am schönsten ist das Wochenende, wenn die Arbeit “draußen bleiben muss” – dann gibt es keine Ausschüsse, keinen Vorstandsbeschluss, keinen Stress – nur noch private “Projekte”!
Und was gibt es nun Neues von Nadja? Sie ist immer noch ein Sonnenschein, gut gelaunt, strahlend. Für uns ein steter Quell der Freude. Und sie kann sich nun vollständig und bewusst drehen, vom Rücken auf den Bauch und zurück. Und so, kombininert mit Robben und Schieben und Drehen schon fast jeden Punkt auf dem Spielteppich erreichen – Zeit für den Steckdosenschutz ;-)
